Professionals in Education Conference 2023

The annual Professionals in Education Conference held key talks and networking opportunities for educational professionals in Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.

The annual Professionals in Education Conference, held on Wednesday 13th December 2023 at Lincoln College, delivered key talks and networking opportunities for educational professionals in Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.

This event brought together passionate educators from across the region, providing a platform for thought-provoking talks and invaluable networking opportunities.

The packed conference schedule featured informative speakers who shared insights on how Lincoln and Newark College best prepare learners for their future careers. Speakers included Lincoln College University Centre who delivered a talk on the benefits of Higher Education, the Apprenticeships team discussing how the College works with employers, plus an overview of the curriculum programmes that support learners with SEND.

Attendees were able to experience a campus tour, allowing them to see first-hand the state-of-the-art facilities offered by Lincoln College.

Jo Priestner, attendee from Banovallum School, said: "I had a really enjoyable day at Lincoln College on a professional development day. Absolutely superb and well organised. The SEND information was fabulous and all the apprenticeship information - plus the new Air and Space Institute is a really exciting development for the future, something I'd really love our students to get involved with."

John Gibbins, attendee from Lincoln Christ Hospital School, added: "We've had a great conference today and for me, one of the best things we've been able to do is bring some colleagues with me, particularly from our SEND department. It's been fantastic to bring them to College to see what I see quite regularly as a careers adviser, but for them it's given them such a huge confidence to know that we've got an excellent tertiary education provider on our doorstep. We know students can be successful here once they've left us at LCHS."

To conclude the conference, Lincoln College's talented Catering and Hospitality students prepared a delicious Christmas lunch, spreading festive cheer and showcasing their culinary skills in the on-campus fine dining restaurant, Sessions.

Abi Wilson, Schools Liaison Officer at Lincoln College, added: "We would like to extend our gratitude to all the attendees and speakers who made this conference a resounding success. The conference is an excellent opportunity to come together and learn more about the education sector, whilst networking with other professionals in the industry. Together, we can continue to shape the future of education and make a lasting impact."
